Calling on Red Deer MPs

To Earl Dreeshen and Blaine Calkins

MPs for Red Deer,

cc: Mayor Ken Johnston and Red Deer City Council

As you should know, May 15th is Nakba day. On this day every year Palestinians remember and mourn the catastrophic displacement of Palestinians in 1948. More than 75 years later Palestine remains occupied by an immoral apartheid state committing genocide. Israel’s genocidal actions must be stopped.

You have told us here at Red Deer for Palestine that you are indifferent to the suffering of Palestinian families being bombed, starved, buried and slaughtered by Israel.

You are on the wrong side of history and humanity. This is a genocide. It was in 1948 and it is today.

Right now, Israeli occupation soldiers are again, still, violently forcing mass displacement and depriving families of food, water, shelter and sanitation.

How can you sleep while mass graves at Al-Shifa and Al-Nasser hospitals in Gaza are filled with more than 400 people? Including children and medical staff who were buried alive, zip tied and shot.

You must condemn Israel’s actions and use your power to stop this cruelty.

Today the research group Forensic Architecture released a report showing Israeli forces have targeted humanitarian aid in Gaza 80 times since January. The humanitarian aid cannot get to the people.

You are supporting starvation.

According to the UN almost 600,000 people have been displaced from Rafah in southern Gaza in just the last week.

Israel has killed at least 35,233 people and wounded more than 79,000 since October 7. Thousands remain missing under rubble.

How can you stand for genocide?
